How I Lower Inflammation Naturally by Changing the Way I Eat

In 2010, my body started to revolt… Big time!!! I had no idea why. I was eating what I thought was a “normal” diet. It was conventional American Diet, but it looked healthy enough for me at the time. I wasn’t reading labels or thinking about what I was putting into my body. Over time, I began to feel more and more defeated with overwhelming symptoms.

Years of stress, anxiety, and depression followed right behind. It wasn’t fun at the time. My energy dropped, my body ached, my digestion was a mess. And no matter how hard I tried to push through, something still felt “off”.

Then in 2015, I found out I couldn’t tolerate gluten. I cut it out and went gluten-free, my IBS went away. Today, it hardly ever flares up. That opened my eyes and I started paying attention and read ingredients. I researched additives and preservatives and realized how hidden toxins were in foods, that I had trusted. I became focused on how to lower inflammation naturally.

In 2022, I went dairy-free and again, everything changed. I felt more ease and less pain. I started feeling more in control of my body and my inflammation lowered.

Supporting my life through clean eating foods has made a huge difference, especially with chronic inflammation and joint pain. If you’re dealing with autoimmune issues or rare genetic conditions like I am, I want you to know, what you put into your body matters. A True Story of how changing food to an anti-inflammatory diet, lowered inflammation and gave me life again.

Why I Focus on Lowering Inflammation

Over the years, I learned that one of the MOST important conversations we can have about health is around lowering inflammation naturally. Chronic inflammation doesn’t just affect one system, it can impact everything from your mood, skin, hormones, digestion, and pain levels.

And unfortunately, so much of what’s on store shelves is not created for proper nutrition. It’s created for extending shelf life and profit. But if we scale things back, return to the earth, to what’s real, natural, and minimally-processed, the healing that can happen, and it can be PROFOUND!!

I believe in reading labels and removing the additives and preservatives. Food that supports your body instead of working against it.

A Few Simple Tips That Helped Lower Inflammation Naturally

These shifts made a huge difference for me, and maybe they’ll help you too!!!

  • Changed my meals to natural foods: colorful veggies, leafy greens, vibrant berries, healthy fats like olive oil, and clean grass-fed protein sources.
  • Avoiding seed oils, refined sugars, and anything heavily processed.
  • Shopping the outside of the center areas of the grocery store and avoid most foods in the center aisles. Iff I do pick something up, I read the label. I became fluent in reading all labels and understanding whats behind each ingredient. This was a learning process!
  • Being gentle with myself. as I made small changes that led to big changes. Which brought me to here to share: Lower Inflammation Naturally- A True Story.
