An easy, cozy Crockpot Ham and Potato Stew made with clean, minimally processed ingredients, natural spices, and dairy-free creaminess. The perfect comforting healthy meal and simple to make!
This turned to a fun family recipe that I made with my sweet daughter.
How to Make Crockpot Ham and Potato Stew
Choose organic foods as I did, for minimally-processed health benefits and clean taste, or go non-organic. Whatever is budget-friendly for you.
Ingredients
• Uncured ham: Free from nitrates, making it a more natural choice. Personally, I like the taste better.
• Red potatoes: Is loaded with fiber with the skins and also has great texture for slow-cooking.
• Purple onions: These contain antioxidants to help reduce inflammation.
• White mushrooms: They have natural vitamin D!
• Vegetable stock: A clean broth without dairy or gluten.
• Coconut milk: Dairy-free alternative with healthy fats and gives a creamy taste.
• Cinnamon: A fun twist with spices.
• Turmeric: Anti-inflammatory spice and my go to for lowering inflammation.
• Ginger: Great for supporting immunity.
• Fresh thyme sprigs: Helps give this stew a beautiful earthy taste and it smells amazing!

Instructions
Add sliced ham, cubed potatoes, sliced onions, and sliced mushrooms to the crockpot. The skins left on the potatoes gives a great taste or you may remove.
Pour in vegetable stock and coconut milk. Both are great trade offs to make this recipe dairy-free and gives it the perfect creamy taste for this easy crockpot ham and potato stew!
Add cinnamon, turmeric, and ginger. I absolutely love this combo of spices with ham and potatoes.
Also, you may want to fill the crockpot with water, until it reaches about halfway full, depending on size.
Stir everything gently to evenly mix the ingredients and spices.
Place fresh thyme sprigs on top.

Lastly, set your crockpot heat on low for 8–10 hours or high for about 6 hours, until potatoes are tender and the flavors have blended.
I did high for 6 hours and stirred it occasionally.
My crockpot settings are getting wore off! 😉

Serve in a bowl and enjoy! My favorite part is how beautiful these ingredients come together to make a great tasting healthy ham stew!
My daughter enjoyed making this with me and I want to share one her favorite easy vegetable recipes with you!
