Ingredients
  

  • 12-14 pounds turkey
  • 1/2 cup thyme, sage, rosemary (whole sprigs)
  • 6 whole 3 red and 3 green apples
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 64 oz vegetable broth
  • 6 cloves garlic

Instructions
 

  • Place oven rack in the lower third portion of oven and preheat to 450°F
  • Remove giblets and neck from turkey cavity.
    Place whole turkey, breast-side up, in large roasting pan.
    Rub garlic powder and paprika all over the turkey skin. Add 32 ounces of broth. Place in oven and oven-roast turkey skin for 30 minutes. (light golden brown)
  • Remove from the oven. Add apples, onions, garlic. Assort herbs on skin and in cavities.
    Cover whole turkey pan with double foil and reduce temperature in oven to 350°F.
  • Continue roasting turkey until an instant-read thermometer reads 165°F in thickest part of turkey breast. (ensuring all areas reaches a safe 165°F)
  • Let the juicy turkey rest for 20 minutes before cutting and serving.
