Fresh cacao contains fleshy pulp and beans, that combined together gives off a flavorful earthy-sweet taste.
It’s high in antioxidants, natural vitamins and minerals.
The beans itself, is what is used to make “processed-chocolate”.

How to make: Fresh Cacao Smoothie
1. Cut open fresh cacao and use spoon to remove fleshy pulp and beans.
(I cut down the middle with a serrated knife)
This is unprocessed chocolate cacao in natural form. It’s super tasty and tempting to eat as you prepare your smoothie.
Not only high in antioxidants, it’s also beneficial for gut health and GREAT alternative to processed coffee. 😉
2. Blend all ingredients together in smoothie. (add clean water as you go to get your desired thickness)
I preferred a thick texture as seen here. 🙂
Eat with a spoon if you chose this route. The pumpkin seeds give this healthy recipe a slight nutty flavor.
Substituting with walnuts or almonds would also be great too.
I absolutely adore a healthy smoothie poured into in a wine glass, as it gives a clean sophisticated look and feel. 😉
Tip: (Natural Cacao Powder maybe useful in place of fresh cacao. Be sure to check the nature of caffeine levels for this option.)

- 4 cubes pineapple.
- 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds.
- 1 tbsp coconut milk.
- 1 tsp honey.
